Effective Ministry Marketing
In today’s society we use all types of social media to promote our products and services. We use facebook, Twitter and Linkedin just to name a few.
This form of advertising has been successful to many industries. It has been well accepted by ministries and churches alike. Because of it’s abilty to reach audiences worldwide and the cost to be virtually free, many independent ministries use these sources.
I would caution however to those that has no background in marketing. This is a powerful tool and could be used against if you don’t know what you are doing.
The one thing some ministries fail to realize although these are social networks your approach and content has to be business social. In other words to have a name and header such as “Prophetess of God” your content should reflect that position. When you are promoting ministry – you are branding your product (which is you) and your service (which is your ministry). By doing this you can put in the minds of readers that, yes the header and content agree.
However when you start promoting ministry and then start putting up pictures of your favorite shoes or you wearing a bikini it distorts the content and confuses the reader. Your brand as Prophetess has been destroyed.
Now I am not saying that you have sinned or that you are not who you say you are. Remember be consistent in your marketing.
My suggestion if you feel the need to get personal and tell jokes and trivial things – then create a personal profile and let it all hang out.
Unless your ministry is about shoe shopping or bikini wear – do not mix the business with personal.
Think about it like this: If you were reading the biography of the President of Pepsico you would read a little about him personally, but not a lot of showing pictures of him shopping for his new golf club and laughing and talking with friends. The main thing you are interested is his position in Pepsi, how he got there and what is he doing now.
This is effective marketing when 90% of your content is focused on your brand.
If however you are one of the few that choose social media for personal use only, then by all means – have a ball!
Yet remember if you are in ministry your content should not contain anything that could defile your name.

We Honor Our Soldiers
As we take this time during the Memorial Day weekend, we honor those who gave their lives for this country. From every war that was started officially to heinous crime of 9/11. These men and women stood where we couldn’t. And they fought when we wouldn’t. Some went straight forward to the frontline. These are our heroes and we honor them.
Let us look at this action as an act of mercy. These soldiers stood in the gap for us and fought for us. What have we done to give back??
Let us honor them by supporting those that are still fighting. Support them in prayer, in letters of encouragement and yes reaching out and uplifting their families and loved ones who are waiting on them. Be a friend, be a confidant, be a mentor. Show your honor and support the cause of what we are fighting for- truth, justice and freedom.
God bless us all,
Dr. A.
Temporary Not Permanent
Have you ever had a bad headache or back pain? Have you ever taken a pain pill, such as Advil, Execedrin or Ibuprofen? If you look at the directions they all state ‘to give you temporary relief’.
This means the pain may leave, but it may come back. Your relief is not permanent.
God wants to remind this trying times your in is only temporary – God has the solution to not relieve the pain, but Remove the source of pain.
We have this confidence that we are more than conquers in all things.
The children of Israel wondered in the wilderness. Through miraculous events God provided for them. They were on there way to the promise land, yet experience temporary sufferings. God rained down manna and quail to feed them. He provided water from a rock to ease their thirst. Don’t give up. You will see your promised land very soon.
It is not permanent only temporary.
“And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble.” 2 Cor. 4:17
SOMETIMES
Sometimes you come across a path of someone who was a “friend” from your past. Well you have changed and it is your hope they have changed as well. You think “it would be nice to have another friend in my life”. So you start to talk with them and seemingly it’s going pretty good until they bring the past to the forefront and here they are debating over something so trivial that it’s not worth it.
You realize you have grown, but they have not. Oh well, see ya. It is at this time that you appreciate more the people in your life that encourages, inspires and motivates you to excel to greatness.
Again, I am reminded how blessed I am to have you in my life. Sometimes those reminders come to shake us and cause us to cherish the gift God has given us. We just need to be reminded – sometimes.

Create Something Special Again
Create Something Special Again
This is what we are saying to God when we don’t appreciate what He has already created. In the beginning God created… But He also made.
When we take what was created we can make it into what we need. We have the same ability, but many are sitting still praying and waiting on God to create something special – Again. When you have not even made use of what was created in the first place.
Let’s go back to the book of Genesis.

Are You a Transformational Leader?
Have you ever been in a group situation where someone took control of the situation by conveying a clear vision of the group’s goals, a marked passion for the work and an ability to make the rest of the group feel recharged and energized? This person just might be what is called a transformational leader.
Transformational leadership is a type of leadership style that leads to positive changes in those who follow. Transformational leaders are generally energetic, enthusiastic and passionate. Not only are these leaders concerned and involved in the process; they are also focused on helping every member of the group succeed as well.
The ingredients necessary for transformational leadership to occur may be summarized in a variety of ways.
1. Leaders have high moral and ethical values.
2. Leaders express genuine interest in followers.
3. Leaders have an inspirational vision.
4. Genuine trust exists between leaders and led.
5. Followers share leader’s values and vision.
6. Leaders and followers perform beyond self-interest.
7. Participatory decision-making is the rule.
8. Innovative thinking and action is expected.
9. Motivation is to do the right thing.
10. Leaders mentor.
Thus, the goal of transformational leaders is to inspire followers to share the leader’s values and connect with the leader’s vision. This connection is manifested through the genuine concern the leaders have for their followers and the followers giving their trust in return. Leaders exhort followers to support the leader’s vision by sharing ideas, imagination, talents, and labor to reach agreement and attain virtuous goals for the good of the leaders, followers, and the organization.

Joy Unspeakable
Have you ever had that feeling that something spectacular is getting ready to happen. Perhaps it’s like when we were kids and it was Christmas Eve. The excitement was so high we could barely sleep.
Well, imagine feeling that way about God’s glory. There is a joy unspeakable, indescribable that is overwhelming and cannot be understood.
Mainly, because there is joy for no natural reason. There is a constant peace and contentment as if someone told you about a surprise that is to come.
I am amazed at how God does it. Life as you know it has not changed, yet you feel higher than a kite. You feel invincible, like nothing can stop you.
How do you get this joy? you ask.
The joy of the Lord is my strength. So how do get strength? I am reminded by the passage of scripture when Paul stated that he prayed three times for God to remove this thorn of the flesh from him. Instead Jesus replied “My grace is sufficient “. In other words, when you are weak, then look to me and I will make you strong.
The strength shows up in our most weakest times. He is our strong tower and refuge, and through Him we can do ALL things.
So this strength exudes confidence, trust, faith and yes complete joy. A contentment that cannot be explained.
I have joy, I am free, I am totally covered by Jesus Christ Himself.
Joy, joy God’s great joy!
Consecrated for Him,
Dr A
A Good Relationship
Relationship is built on give and take.
A good relationship is like depositing and withdrawing. A good friend will be able to make a withdraw from another friend; mainly because a deposit of friendship has been made.
The sad thing however, is when your account is overdrawn because enough has not been deposited. This happens when a person demands more from you than they are willing to give.
Mind you this does not mean money, but something more valuable such as trust, integrity and honesty. These are the key strong points that should be deposited in a relationship.
In any relationship, friendship, family, romantic and yes even pastoral.
Can you imagine a member going to a church for years, yet feeling empty in the relationship with their Pastor.
Pastors need to deposit these keys as well. It would help his/her teaching to be received more readily.
Likewise, members should not expect a withdraw when there has not been a deposit. How can I deposit into my Pastor? You ask. Well for starters support the vision of the ministry through time, talent and treasure.
You will find a great reward not because of your Pastor, but because of what the vision of ministry stands for.
Also, continue to pray for your Pastor and do not hold a rebellious spirit. This does not mean to say “Yes” to do all things, but say “yes” to the positive result for the ministry.
Now Pastors or better yet, Shepherds feed the flock. Do not water down the truth but serve it tenderly and with the Love of God. Be an example of a man or woman of God everywhere nor just at church. Be accountable let your people know that you also must give an account of your actions to another leader. Be honest, if you don’t know, tell the truth. Be open to listen to your flock and have a caring yet instructive heart.
Relationships take time to build, let that be your main concern.
Jesus said You are my friends if you keep my commandments. I call you no longer slaves or strangers, but I call you friend.
Yes Jesus made himself a friend to others. However to do so you must invest in the Relationship Maker – as Jesus did when he said “I do nothing unless my Father tells me to do it”
And remember the first thing Jesus taught us on how to prayer is to address God as “Our Father”. From the beginning he defines to us that this connection with God is about relationship not a religion.
Jesus is our example of one that builds solid relationships. Still today He is not here in the flesh, but everyday he is gaining more friends.

Here are 7 Fast-Food Lunches that Keep You Lean

Many of us seem to operate on one speed—overdrive! And that habit has carried over to our food habits, too: Fifty-nine percent of women eat on the go, according to a study in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association. Those who eat while driving, working or otherwise occupied, tend to fill up more on fast food. While you can hit the insta-burger joint occasionally without gaining, those who indulge in fast food more than twice a week tend to be 10 pounds heavier than those who eat it sparingly, according to a study in The Lancet, which puts them at greater risk for diabetes.
The good news: As long as you place a smart order, it’s possible to eat fast food without tacking on pounds. One stay-slim secret worth remembering? Beware the combo meal: The average side accounted for a third of these meals’ 1,200 calories, a study in the journal Obesity indicates, so avoid the fries-with-that trap. As for the healthiest options on the menu board, you can’t go wrong with the all-stars below. Speedy, nutritious meal? Coming right up!

Delegation is Necessary
Over the years I have worked with many Pastors, Directors and CEOs. Unfortunately a lot of them lack the ability to delegate responsibility. They believe “I am the only one that can do this” or “well if I want it done right I have to do it myself”. These leaders often suffer of high blood pressure through high stress. I found this information to be crucial for leaders, you can fit this into your organization whether it’s a church or business.
————————–
Delegation is the way great managers grow organizational capability. There is no need to find or create work for our employees. We teach them to do our job by giving them our work.
The Model. First, state your need for help. “Rob, I need your help on something”. Then, tell them why you’re asking THEM: “You’re the closest to this customer”, “You’re our best negotiator”, “You’re most in need of growth in this area, and I trust you”. Ask for specific acceptance: “Would you please take over the monthly project meeting?”. Now describe the task or project in details: “Here’s what’s involved…”.
Delegation: Go over deadline and quality standards: “You’ll report out on the 15th of each month and here’s the template”. Nail down reporting standards: “I want weekly updates and concerns”. Ask for skills/resource needs: “What do you need from me?”
